Honda Fit EV

Honda will officially begin leasing its Fit EV for $389 per month on July 20.

Though the automaker has only committed to leasing 1,100 Honda Fit EVs over the next three years, the Fit EV will become available starting tomorrow in select regions of California and Oregon. The Fit EV carries a lease price of $389 a month and is expected to be available in additional regions starting in 2013. The converted electric Fit has a base MSRP of $36,625, though it's not available to purchase at that price, as Honda will only lease the converted electric.

In terms of efficiency and range, the Honda Fit EV earned an official EPA combined MPGe rating of 118 and the EPA label will show its official range as 82 miles.

Honda will introduce its HondaLink EV application on the battery-powered Fit. HondaLink EV allows users to "remotely view the state of charge, initiate charging and activate the air conditioning and heater to pre-condition the vehicle while connected to the grid to maximize battery range on start-up."
