ex-EV1 driver

ex-EV1 driver is an Electrical Engineer. He has a Bachelor's and Master's degree from Cornell University and has worked in various capacities in the US Military (Navy officer), and as an engineer in the cellular phone, defense, and aircraft industries. Coming from Nebraskan roots, he has lived and worked on both coasts and currently resides in Southern California.

He leased an EV1 in 1999. It was, as the bards recounted, taken back and killed. After having the EV1 taken away and crushed, he has been passionately working to try to get production automobiles on the road through participation in many different advocacy groups.

His current commute car (when his wife doesn't take it) is a Tesla Roadster which he couldn't afford but did anyway. Using the Roadster, he seizes every opportunity possible to show the general public that EVs can be both useful and fun.

In order to reduce the risk to the Tesla Roadster caused by driving it on CA freeways, he now has a Nissan Leaf for the daily commute. While it's range barely meets his needs, it does get by.
