Bio: I am the Environmental Science teacher at Sterling High School in Sterling, KS. Thanks to the support of a number of sponsors, we have just started our "SHS Chevy Volt Project" that will allow students in my classes to study the economic and environmental benefits offered by this vehicle. Our school district has now leased a 2012 Chevrolet Volt as a district vehicle for three years (with all funding secured through grants/sponsorships) and students are beginning to study the data provided from my 40 mile round trip commute and from the various trips where the Volt is used for school purposes. The project is gaining momentum and I am excited to see our students involved in this real-life study not found in any textbook!
