Elon Musk, chief executive officer of electric automaker Tesla Motors (and SpaceX) received the Wall Street Journal Magazine's first-ever Innovator of the Year Award in Technology. The oft-outspoken and sometimes over-the-top Musk is largely responsible for bringing ground- breaking electric vehicles to market. Musk describes the upcoming Model S not only as the finest electric automobile to ever hit the streets, but as the "best car of any kind," regardless of means of propulsion.

On May 6 - 8, my company, PlugInConnect, organized an EV Experience event—not related to GE’s events that share the same name—as part of the 10th Annual Living Green Expo at the Minnesota State Fair Grounds. For the first time in Minnesota, everyone from key decision makers to the general public had an opportunity to see plug-in vehicles, charging infrastructure, and even a functioning solar charging system. The most exciting aspect was the chance to experience test rides in various EVs and plug-in hybrids.

Its performance is nothing but awesome. As fast as a Tesla Roadster? Faster than a Tesla? I can't say, but the cars are close, and you would need a track to find out which one is fastest.

Tesla has notified the BBC of its intent to sue the television show Top Gear for libel over what it says are misleading claims made about the Tesla Roadster in an episode that was first broadcast more than two years ago.

Just six months after opening an office in the downtown Suntec City commercial center with the hope of selling its electric Roadster there soon, Tesla packed its bags last week and left Singapore. The departure stems from the carmaker's inability to secure lucrative incentives that could have pushed the price of its groundbreaking plug-in sports car.
