Payment Options at public charging stations

We began a lease on a Nissan Leaf just yesterday. Have been told that some public charging stations require some sort of "card" other than a regular credit card. We have to "sign up" for this payment card. Anyone know what I am talking about?

Yes I do. Called chargepoint I think. You sign up with a credit card and they send you cards to use at charge stations. Think it is 25.00 and they deduct charges from this when you charge.
