That's good news for buyers. We want a bull of a battery. Just got an email that ours is ready for pickup at the Century City location on 3.16.12. Now if I can just get our solar panel permit finished and the level 2 charger! Progress!!

Hi Dels,

I test drove one yesterday. It drove fine, but I learned some things that concern me.

As you know the 125mi ones are now delivering and the 150mi ones come later in the year. One of the appeals of this vehicle to me was the range at a much less than Tesla Sedan price. During the test drive discussion with the rep, he eplxained that the DOE MPGe numbers just came out and they were 73MPGe, not the 99 that has been on the website. Also the DOE range was stepped down by the same proportation (relative to 125 mi) to 88 mi. That sounds like more power being dissipated in operating the car (poorer rolling resistance due to bad bearings? Something else in the mechanical chain? Higher internal resistance in the battery?) than anticipated.

I was holding out for a 150mi version anyway. I am going to hold my breath and hope the company figures out whatever problem they are having (or how the DOE messed up. Maybe they got a bum car?).

Interesting side note is that the car I drove was the first off the mass production line that was not sacrificed in a crash test. Pretty cool eh?

Hey OriEri,

Yes this concerns me a bit too, because its' range was the 2nd biggest reason to go with the Coda, other than it being a sedan. Well, it does have more of a decent 'punch' off the line than the other non-Tesla electrics. I think the new numbers may make the Coda more of a 2nd vehicle, than, say, the only car in a household. At least for me. Maybe I'll feel the opposite, after being with the car for a while and we get comfortable with the range.
